ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY
The scattered community of settlements clustered around the actual harbour includes Madeira Park, Beaver Island, Garden Bay and Irvines Landing. To the north are Kleindale, Sakinaw Lake, Ruby Lake, Earl’s Cove, Egmont, Skookumchuck Narrows and the waterways up Jervis Inlet.

The Sunshine Coast School District #46 has aproximately 3,150 students enrolled in nine elementary and four secondary schools. Seven schools have received “community school” designations: Chatelech, Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour, Roberts Creek, Madeira Park, Elphinstone and Gibsons. Community schools share a common goal to provide programs that connect school and community and to create bridges in the community to prevent isolation of students and their families. There are two schools in the Pender Harbour: Madeira Park Elementary and Pender Harbour Elementary Secondary. Pender Harbour Community School provides programs and services to both schools, as well activities for the entire community.
