Come and let Karen Dyck show you how to enhance presentations for your club or business, with a computer or iPad and digital projector, with sound, and remote control.  Learn to hook up computer and projector, use Bluetooth, add sound, transfer files, trouble-shoot, and test for usability, using equipment readily available in the community.

Who we are & what we do...

The heart of our work is to provide support to the students of Madeira Park Elementary and Pender Harbour Secondary schools.  We offer student and family support services; after school programs such as Art Class, Fishing Club and Summer Camps; a variety of youth drop-in activities like soccer, hockey, badminton; as well a Nutrition for Learning program.

We also work with youth outside of school-time with Youth Outreach support. We sit on the SC Youth Outreach Worker Steering Committee and work with other regional groups and agencies on a variety of other services. We are strong supporters of the Roots of Empathy program too - increasing empathy skills in young children.

Our work is not just for young people though - it´s for everyone! We´re here to create a full range of learning and recreational opportunities based on the interests of all community members - anything from Pickleball to Computer Café, from Ukulele to Grant Writing. Let us know what you´d like to see offered or if you´d like to get involved.

As a non-profit society, we are primarily funded through CommunityLINK/Ministry of Education, SC Regional District, Province of BC Direct Access and various project grants. We are grateful for and reliant upon the generous support of donations from businesses and individuals and for the volunteers whose contributions help to fill in the gaps.

Drop by the Harbour Learning Centre - the home of the Community School - where we run many of our classes in the community-use room which also has a small computer lab. The Open Door Group are here twice a month for those with employment needs - come and check out the up-to-date Job Board.

We are your Community Information & Referral specialists - if you want to know what´s happening or if you are new to the community and want to get connected, please drop by ~ we´d love to see you. We´re in the colourful little portable located on the grounds of the Madeira Park Elementary School field from 9am-4pm on Tue, Wed and Fri´s, Sep to June.
